About the coffee
About the coffee
African Moon is built from carefully selected community lots in Uganda’s Kasese District. Cherries are dried and sorted with care before milling, which gives the cup both fruit character and structure. In the cup, expect dark chocolate depth, ripe cherry sweetness, and a clean toasted-nut finish.

African Moon is a Natural Processed Coffee
Natural processing means the coffee cherry is dried whole before the seed is removed. Instead of washing fruit away early, the bean stays in contact with the cherry for much longer.
That extended fruit contact tends to increase sweetness, deepen body, and create a rounder texture in the cup. It often brings more pronounced fruit notes and a richer overall profile.
For African Moon, this is exactly what determines the cup style. It gives a sweeter, fuller coffee with a deeper fruit-led character.

I loved this bean! Managed to dial in the espresso quickly and worked well in milk too. Definitely recommend this roast.
Really great flavour for great value !
Smells delicious, pours great, tastes bitter, would not buy again.
Great product … they need to sort out their shipping though.
Good quality beans. Woukd like to try some other’s from this brand. The coffee just pours ‘right’.
Tasty
Great tasting coffee at a reasonable price from a local small business.
Amazing. Every product is. Always top quality.
Absolutely delicious coffee - without doubt, one of the best I've ever tasted (and, as a confirmed coffee addict, I've tried a lot!) I can't recommend Wrexham Bean Co enough - a range of fantastic coffees to keep everyone happy, and thoroughly lovely guys to boot. Thank you! :)
excellent product, good customer service, decent delivery times , flexible subscription plan
Best coffee I’ve tasted!
This is our preferred coffee by a long way.
Loved it. So much so that I have set up an order on a subscription basis for monthly delivery.
Top quality coffee. Perfect variety of different blends. Brilliant taste for the price and definitely worth buying
Brilliant coffee
Delicious coffee
Excellent cappuccino beans
African Moon is our current favourite coffee and will remain so for a long time. Having tried so many other companies and varieties over the years this is the best bean we’ve ever tasted. It’s so full of flavour with just the right strength that doesn’t spoil the notes of chocolate and cherry. We always try to support our local independent traders and Wrexham Bean Co provide a great service. I cannot recommend them enough.
Delicious coffee so good we have it on subscription now
I love nuts, cherry and chocolate together, so wanted to give this one a go and it doesn't disappoint, absolutely delicious.
Wrexham Bean Co feels like you're having coffee in a fancy coffee shop, but at home
Tasty dark roast
I’ve tried three different blends from Wrexham Bean and they’ve all been great—each one with its own unique flavour. African Moon really stood out for me: smooth, rich, with notes of dark chocolate, cherry, and toasted nuts. Love that they’re local too—always happy to support a quality local business.
Really beautiful coffee, dissolves really well and doesn’t go sludgy like some
Really really good flavour too
Great coffee
Great coffee
Absolutely love this coffee and the customer service is unmatched. Thanks so much
The shipping on this was so quick. It was here before I knew it. But the important thing is that this coffee is amazing! This is the second Ive tried and I couldnt be happier. The aroma of the beans is heavenly, a bit fruity and chocolaty. I brewed it as a double espresso shot and it tastes of cherry bakewell drizzled in dark chocolate and coffee. I am absolutely blown away by how good it is. I can't wait to try in my pourover in the morning. I will be getting this again.
I bought some beans from a store in Bristol last year that came from Burundi and to this day it's the best coffee I've ever tasted. I've been searching ever since to find something to match it and these Ugandan Bukonzo beans from Wrexham Bean Co. come really close. Beautiful coffee.
Love this coffee. Deep smooth taste. Not bitter . Great any time of day
I'm not as keen on this blend as Calon, just a matter of preference. This is quite an earthy taste in my opinion. Can't fault Wrexham Bean Co on delivery or service. An option for V60 grounds would be wonderful. :slightly_smiling:
Really lovely coffee, would definitely buy again!
A very pleasant bean. Aroma is great. The taste is very nice, I can't quite put my finger on what the taste is exactly to put it into a review, but I like it!
This is a really good coffee. I bought some bourbon beans from Burundi from a shop in Bristol and it was the best coffee I'd ever tasted. Since then, I've been trying to find a coffee with that same level of flavour and this African Moon coffee from Uganda is almost as good. It's really delicious. Highly recommended.
By far my new favourite. The flavour really hits different. So happy I managed to snag myself this before it sold out.
