About the coffee

This coffee comes from smallholder communities near Bwindi and is processed through Gorilla Summit’s washing-station setup in Kanungu. The project is built around quality improvement and local reinvestment, from fair cherry pricing to community outcomes. Cup profile is citrus-led and clean, with a sweet biscuit-like finish.

Why it tastes like this

  • Honey process → sweeter, richer texture
  • SL28/SL34 at high altitude → vivid citrus and structured acidity

What Our Customers Say

How are you making your Gorilla Summit?

Choose your brew method and get a dialled-in starting recipe.

Step 01

Choose your brew method

Gorilla Summit is a Honey Processed Coffee

Honey processing sits between washed and natural methods. The skin is removed, but some of the sticky fruit layer stays on the bean during drying, which changes how sugars are absorbed.

That usually gives more sweetness and body than a fully washed coffee, while keeping more clarity than a full natural. You get a rounder mouthfeel, softer texture, and fruit notes that feel integrated rather than heavy.

In this coffee, that’s why the cup tastes sweet and full without losing structure. It keeps good flavour definition from start to finish, and if you want the full breakdown, we’ll link our honey-processing guide.
