Every Wrexham Bean Co. bag features a unique print of a local Wrexham landmark to celebrate our city’s history and culture. For our Brazilian Eagle coffee, we chose a vintage-style print of the Old Westminster Bank on the Wrexham High Street in the 1960s.
Why did we feature a print of Wrexham High Street on our Brazilian Eagle coffee?
Wrexham’s High Street - once known in 1562 as the King’s Highway - has long been a central part of the town’s story. Originally a medieval market route, it grew into a busy retail hub and, by the 1960s, had begun its shift into a centre for banks and insurance companies. The move of the town’s main bus terminal from High Street to King Street during that time marked a turning point in its role and atmosphere.

We chose to feature this moment in time to celebrate the history and evolution of Wrexham High Street over the years. The soft blue and grey tones of the artwork bring a vintage feel that reflects the character of the street during that time.
